Description

We offer a unique, rustic, beautiful and romantic cottage, built in 1921. Uniquely located in the city of Fredericia overlooking the ocean with two footsteps to the beach. We have two bedrooms, one with bunk beds, one with a double bed and room for a baby bed/crib and a pull out bed in the living room. There is one living room and a kitchen both overlooking the beautiful ocean. It is a very cozy and inspiring place to relax or be active with the endless possibilities of activities in the area or just on the beach which was voted the best beach overall in Denmark. Weather you come with kids or without this is a uniquely situated spot you will not find anywhere else. It is built old style with wooden floors and beautiful windows. Fireplace in the living room. Although best suited for the summer it can be lived in all year round.

Neighborhood

Situated uniquely in a vibrating large town of Fredericia with 50.000 people, this house is sitting on a steep lot facing the beach and water with lots of activities. Fredericia is a friendly city offering a wide range of cultural activities, museums, galleries, theaters, cafe's, restaurants, clubs, pubs as well as summer activities near the beach. Festivals as well as most activities take place during the summer period. Fredericia is surrounded by protected forest to the north, hilly terrain around with local produce available. This beautiful area, with the blue waters, old majestic trees and hilly terrain is what gave inspiration to the poet who wrote the danish national anthem. Located close to the center of Denmark this location is ideal for excursions to Legoland Park, Water parks, Odense where the poet H.C.Andersen came from or Jelling which is famed for the old history back from the Viking era. Numerous opportunities for fishing, hiking, bycycling, exploring or just enjoying the fantastic views from the cottages.

About Us

We are Rikke Maria and Martin, a married couple with three smaller children. We are both professionals (Psychologist and aviation industry) and enjoy traveling and exploring when able to get away. We have not done a home exchange before but are keen to try what sounds a great way to see another country as a resident - and allow someone to see ours. We are currently located on the prairies in Canada and the house in Denmark is a second home for us. We are open for your stay in Denmark for any time and any length as it is available all year. We are as flexible as you can be with three little kids. We are open to anywhere where we safely can brings the kids.
