Description

Fully furnished apartment in the wonderful Marina District of San Francisco, apartment is single story no stairs. I do not rent or lease the apartment thus I am very flexible with the dates that you might need, as it is empty most of the time. No pets are allowed in the apartment, no smoking and street parking only. The apartment can accomodate 4 people, it has one bedroom with a queensize bed, living room, full kitchen, dining area, bathroom and in the garage is a washer and dryer unit. Great for a travelling couple or a small family with only two kids. Very quiet location all you will hear is the fog horn from the Golden Gate Bridge, a wonderful sound.

Neighborhood

The Marina District of San Francisco is an affluent residential area of San Francisco, adjacent to a bayside marina, it boasts remarkable views of the Golden Gate Bridge and lovely homes. A middle-class Italian neighborhood until the 1960’s, the Marina now houses some of the community’s wealthiest families, who live in the elegant homes that line the waterfront.

Marina Green, a stretch of green grass running along the edge of the Bay, is a favorite place for jogging, strolling, picnicking, kite flying and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. To the east, Fort Mason Center was established by Spanish soldiers in 1797. Former military warehouses and piers now house the San Francisco Craft and Folk Art Museum, a number of theaters and cultural groups. The Palace of Fine Arts, a stunning Greco-Romanesque structure, was built in 1915 for the Panama Pacific International Exposition.

For nearby shopping and dining, Chestnut Street is a favorite for its stylish shops and cafes. Once a quaint shopping district, Chestnut was permanently altered by the 1989 earthquake. Today it’s a yuppie shopping haven.

The Presidio, a formerly active military base recently established as a public park, is a 1,480-acre scenic preserve with miles of hiking trails and bike routes, plus beaches and picnic sites. Crissy Field, a windswept stretch of shoreline extending from Marina Green to the Golden Gate, features a restored tidal marsh, coastal dunes covered with native plants, a shoreline promenade and sheltered picnic area.

About Us

My husband and I are in our 50's and are clean and responsible. We have two children age 18 and 9, it is most likely we would be travelling without our kids. We like to remain active and focus on outdoor activities more than indoor activities. We prefer locations next to the ocean so we can dive, kayak or just swim in the ocean. We are quiet people and will take care of the property like it was our own. We are very neat.

Destination

I can arrange an exchange that is non-simultaneous, I do not rent my apartment and thus it is empty most of the year. I can work around your schedule with no difficulty. My husband and I are looking for a 2 to 3 week trip to Vanuatu, Northern Mariana Island or islands located in the Pacific Ocean in 2009. We can adjust our travel time based on what you have available.
