You'll love our garden setting 2BR home, nestled on the cool slopes of Haleakala on Maui. Enjoy the vine-covered pergola and water fountains as you enter the privacy of walled gardens, front and back covered decks, and Asian pacific furnishings. We have a working fireplace for cool nights, TV/DVD/W/D, full kitchen, French doors and vaulted ceilings. For the chefs among you, we also have a nice herb garden with rosemary, basil, oregano, thai basil, etc.

Neighborhood

This property is in nice neighborhood, with a 5 minute walk to Makawao town which has art galleries, gourmet coffee shops, and restaurants from prime rib to sushi---- as well as a vegan health food grocery and gourmet deli. Only 15 minutes to airport, main towns, and north shore beaches---also just minutes from serene wooded trails in Makawao forest reserve, jungle pools and bamboo forests.

About Us

My name is Michelle Ritchie, and I am a 45 year old author and addictions counselor. I love to travel, and I'm currently wanting to stay long or short-term in Santa Cruz California, so I'm hoping to find an exchange there.

Destination

My dates are open--as of this writing I am mainly wanting to go to Santa Cruz, California, in late July 2008 or thereafter, and stay at least 1-2 weeks. In the future however, I am open to any and all offers, to swap homes in interesting places!

I should also mention that I have a dog and two cats--the dog could stay with my friend while you are at the house, and if you prefer, my tenant can feed the cats, so you don't have to bother with the animals unless you want to. These are mainly outdoor animals--our home is clean. The good news about this is--- I am definitely an animal lover, and I'd be happy to take care of your pets and give them lots of TLC!

Our car is up for trade too, it's a late 1990's Mazda Millenia sedan in good condition. As I am only a basic member on this site so far, I look forward to hearing from you!
