North America / United States / California / Marina Del Rey

Description

My home is a very charming 100 year old beach house steps from the beautiful beaches of the Marina Del Rey Penninsula in Los Angeles. This two story house has been fully redone with new appliances and furnishings. The master bedroom on the second floor has windows across 3 walls with an amazing ocean breeze. I have an unusually large fenced in front yard perfect for entertaining, or just relaxing after a day at the beach. I am an interior designer and have created an environment that is relaxing with restored original features, mixed in a bit of an industrial feeling and added modern conveniences and unique elements. The colors in my home are all a soothing mix of grays, taupe and white which further contribute to a serene vacation get away. Hardwood floors throughout, an in-door/outdoor shower, a wood burning fireplace, patio with a firepit for making s'mores or just enjoying some great wine.
You can ride my bike or walk about 6 blocks along the beach to Washington Blvd where there are fun restaurants offering GREAT sushi, Italian, Mexican, ice-cream and coffee.
This is a quiet community and very safe. There's a decent break to surf a bit, nothing crazy though. You'll be within walking distance of the historic Venice Canals, and a short bike ride to Venice Beach, but far enough away from the craziness of tourists. You're just a short drive from movie theatres, shopping and the famous Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade. You can goes days without putting on shoes, its perfect.
This is a magical place, a little oasis with extra charm reminiscent of a beach house in New England.

About Us

Well, I already mentioned that I am an Interior Designer. I grew up in Connecticut then worked in Philadelphia then NYC for about 6 years and have not been in L.A. for 7 years.
I live here in Marina Del Rey with my yellow lab puppy Tallulah. I work like a maniac so i love to get away as often as possible and have had the opportunity to spend a lot of time in other countries. My boyfriend and i are avid scuba divers and love travel adventures. I love to entertain and love my beach at sunset. it's the most calming serene place. I speak English and understand a very little bit of French and Italian, but it would be best if we stick to English or i may end up giving you information about some old lady with 50 cats when i was really just trying to tell you where the nearest bank is...I wouldn't trust my translation. : )
Anything else you'd like to know, just ask.
