The home is a two-story, twelve year old home with a large yard. Four bedrooms on the second floor can sleep 6 comfortably. The downstairs includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, office and laundry room. The kitchen is newly renovated. The house has a two car garage. A car can be negotiated in the exchange.

Neighborhood

Our home resides in a suburban area outside of Richmond, VA. The neighborhood is small with 90 homes. The neighborhood is along a scenic bike route. It is walking distance to the James River and parks. The local elementary school and high school are 1 mile away. A car is needed to get to grocery stores, but there are restaurants and small shops within walking distance.
Major highways are within 1 mile of house and can get you to I-95 (north south along eastern US) or I-64.
Washington DC is two hours, NYC 6 hours, Atlanta 8 hours, Orlando 12 hours drive time. Richmond Airport is 35 minutes away

About Us

I am a self-employed landscape designer and work from home. My husband is a professor at the University of Richmond. We have two daughters 10 and 12 years old. We have lived in the Richmond, VA area for seven years.

Destination

We would like to find a home exchange for a term of at least 4 months up to 5 months. We are taking a sabbatical leave from the University of Richmond during the spring term of 2009. We prefer an exchange around Bath, England but we are flexible as long as the home has a wireless internet connection.
