Descrizione

Our apartment is in a new complex built in 2007. It is part of a 3 tower complex offering a shared swimming pool, fitness suite, DVD room and outside 'Oasis area'. We have 2 small balcony's. It is one of the larger suites offering 1500 sq ft. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one an ensuite). There is also a sofa bed in the living room to sleep an extra 2 if required. The kitchen, dining room area and living room are open plan, with a solarium to add that bit of extra space. There's a washer dryer and all the usual appliances in the kitchen, including a dishwasher and large microwave. There's a 32" TV and an XBox, wireless internet connection and landline phone with free local calls.

Quartiere

It's a vibrant area in development at the moment but the noise of the city doesn't get into our apartment, we have very good sound-proofing. It is based downtown, near Chinatown, just a walk away from the highlights of the city centre opposite Tinseltown, a wonderful cinema. The main central library is 5 minutes walk away and there are many restaurants and theatres within walking distance. It's next door to the skytrain line, the buses run just 1 block away and a 5 minute sea wall walk to the False Creek sea bus stop. Vancouver has wonderful mountains, beaches, forests and the Pacific Ocean. Grouse Mountain is 1/2 an hour away. It is a 1 1/2 hour ferry ride to Vancouver Island and there are many more smaller islands nearby. About a 2 hour drive East or North takes you to Lakes and wonderful camping grounds. Whistler is also 2 hours North.

Chi siamo

We are new-ish immigrants from the UK and we arrived in Vancouver in January 2007. One of the adults is a web designer and one a teacher. We have 2 boys ages 15 and 12. We are settling into life here and enjoy multicultural living. We are still at the beginning of a new life and it is very exciting and strange all at the same time!

Destinazione

We will be visiting the UK, during Sept. 2009 and anywhere South London would be considered for between a week and 2 weeks. We have family who live near Crystal Palace and anywhere 30 mins from there by car would certainly be good.

Sometime within 2010 we would like to visit San Francisco. We are open to none simultaneous exchanges - we visit the UK and go on Vacation locally as well so the apartment will be empty at various times. We will try to accomodate dates, if we get enough notice. We are open to requests and will see what we can do!
