Furniture is mostly custom made - modern yet unpretentious. The living areas lead to a large sheltered verandah with a barbecue. The house has many glass sliding doors onto outside areas, including a deck and plunge pool. The views of Table Mountain and the first fairway are spectacular as we are situated in an elevated position on the Atlantic Beach Golf course. The wild life seen from our home includes Springbok, Mongoose, tortoises, a variety of birds and other small animals. The house has been designed for outdoor living and entertainment. There is a small garden planted with indigenous plants. Our small plunge pool is not heated, but refreshing in the Spring, Summer & Autumn! We do not have any pets and would not want pets in our home. As non-smokers, we do not allow smoking on our property. This is a home swap for non-smokers only.
This house would be ideal for 1 or 2 mature couples who are used to luxury and good taste, respect nature and enjoy golf.
Couples who would appreciate the home and setting would probably be adventurous nature lovers who like to keep options open by being close to the city.
Neighborhood
The house is situated in a beautiful, neat, secure golf estate that is in the middle of a nature reserve. There are safe pathways for walking, jogging or cycling and the general atmosphere is one of friendliness. We are situated on the first fairway of an 18 hole golf course where a herd of Springbok roam freely. Sounds of the ocean, sunbirds, plovers, owls and Springbok can be heard.
The beach and the closest shopping centre are a 3 minute drive away, while other upmarket shopping centres and entertainment are 10 - 20 minutes away. Cape Town City centre is a 35 minute drive, while the wine farms are 20 - 50 minutes away. On the estate there is a gym, a large pool and tennis courts (3 minute walk from the house). Visitors are welcome to make use of the facilities for a nominal fee.

About Us
Don is Scottish, but has been in Cape Town for 25 years. He is gregarious, a marathon runner, tourism entrepreneur, sport fanatic, big screen TV fan and loves socialising.
Jane is South African, a passionate high school Art teacher, gregarious, an artist, a gardener, and is learning to play the piano.
We love the outdoors and enjoy camping. We spend time with friends on our verandah in Summer, enjoy the pool, views of Table Mountain and sunsets. From time to time we enjoy nature from the seats of our mountain bikes!
We both speak English and Jane speaks Afrikaans, a South African derivative of Dutch.
We look after our property and respect nature, and expect our visitors to do the same.
