Description

Our home is a three bedroomed semi detached property, which has recently been extended. We live in a cul-de-sac, in a quiet and well regarded area of the town.

We have an open plan kitchen diner as well as a formal sitting room and W/C on the ground floor. On the first floor we have our bedroom, the two childrens bedrooms and the family bathroom.

There are gardens to the front and rear, with the back garden being more usable, running off from the french doors leading from the kitchen diner. There is a garage and car port to the rear also.

We have spent a lot of time and effort, not to mention the money, in getting the house to what it is today. It is very welcoming and comfortable, with wireless internet use available for any swapee.

All photo's are of the Peak District, which is barely 15 minutes drive away. I will be uploading photo's of our home very soon.

Neighborhood

We live a 10 minute walk away from Chesterfield's historic town centre, famous for it's "crooked spire" church. The train station is ten minutes walk away, with good links up and down the country. The canal runs just behind our house which can be walked for some distance and there is a park close by and municpal golf course. Supermarkets are equally close as well as a local pub just around the corner.

Easy access to the motorway makes it good for exploring the region; junction 29 M1 is 15 minutes drive away. Sheffield is about 15 minutes away to the North and Nottingham about 30 minutes to the South. Nearest airports are Sheffield/Doncaster and Nottingham East Midlands, both within a 45 minute drive.

However, the main advantage of coming here is the ease of getting out into the peak district. After driving for less than 10 minutes, you find yourself in the countryside. Chatsworth House, where the Duke of Devonshire lives; Bakewell, famous for its puddings and a host of other quaint, querky and fascinating villages and towns are all in easy reach.

We have family that live close by who would be able to welcome you and ensure you are at ok. The neighbours are friendly; both with a young family.

About Us

I work as a Housing Officer for a local charity and my wife balances looking after our children and being a mobile hairdresser.

We are fans of the outdoors, exploring the U.K. at weekends and whenever we get the chance. We visit Europe regularly - Spain, France, Greece and Ireland in recent years. But the main highlight for us both (pre- children of course) was travelling round the world for a year between 2004-5. We took a career brake and travelled through Asia, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. This is something that we intend to do again in the future with the children.

We are both great food lovers and enjoy cooking for friends.

Now that we have children, we would appreciate a swop that the location has things to offer for young families.

We love our home and would pay the same care and attention to every home we visit.

Destination

would welcome weekend or week long swops from UK based members only this year.
