A small and warm studio apartment, in the suburbs. Bedroom, kitchen and small living-room, all in one, like a summer bungalow. 1 Bathroom. A small, shared veranda is also available.
Very sunny and quiet, situated on a beautiful hill, right under Pendeli mountain. Furnished. Appliances. High-speed internet available.
Children are welcome, although they might need to sleep on a sofa.
Pets are welcome, as well.
Neighborhood
Very quiet neighborhood. Mini-market and super market, as well as public transportation
5 minute walk away! Surrounded by a forest, on the top of a hill, with incredible view of the entire city of Athens. Fantastic for a romantic and revitalising walk or bicycle ride in the morning or the evening. (Unfortunatelly the beautiful forest was destroyed by a terrible fire last summer, but is recovering slowly..) 30 minutes away from the center of Athens (bus and train), where the sights are plenty and very interesting. So is the cuisine!
Not to mention the city's night life, full of small quiet bars, restaurants, theatres and many night clubs!
Also, 30 minutes from a sunny and beautiful beach; one of Athens protected national parks. Beautiful and long sandy beach, surrounded by a forest. Water sports available, as well as birdwatching and walks -for nature lovers. For a more enjoyable and independent stay, it would be recommended to rent a car, since the buses to the beach may take much longer. Available car or motorbike rental for 20euro per day or much less, depending on the lenght of the stay. Taxi service available.
Ground floor (access to anyone with mobility problems, althought may need car or taxi because the street to and from the bus station is quite steep).
Another possibility, would be to take many short trips to the islands, close to the port of Athens, or even further away. Friendly travel agent available.
About Us
This is Fannie. I am a translator and teacher of english. I have been living in this apartment for 2 years. I like the concept of home exchange and sharing, because I enjoy travelling a lot myself and can't live without it! My country is a very hospitable destination, although, to be honest, tourism in some places of greece still needs a lot of organising...Still, there are trully beatiful places to visit and beaches to discover..
I usually spend summer time (July and August) away from athens, so my flat is available during that time. But that period of time can be extended, or start in June till September as well. I am open to any other suggestions.
This year i am not looking for an accomodation in another country myself, but i will be, in 2009. I am also interested for a caravan or a motor home available for exchange in the following year. The flat will be available during Christmas holidays (2009) as well, but I am open to any other suggestions, concerning time and lenght of stay.
If you choose to visit greece, i will be more than happy to help organise any road trip, find maps to all the sights and the cheapest rooms on the islands nearby for your visits and recommend places to go for a beautiful night out in the city..Hope i can share my flat with someone who enjoys travelling and discovering new places, as much as i do!
