Description

This comfortable apartment is on the second floor of a well maintained building on the bank of the main river that runs through Dublin. The apartment is close to the heart of Dublin, nearby museums, theaters, restaurants, pubs, clubs and shops. It is just a block west of Temple Bar where you will find lots of Dublin's nightlife. It would be hard to find a better location from which to explore the city.

The apartment has three rooms - the living room, the bedroom and the study that is occasionally used as a guest bedroom. There is a small kitchen off the living room equipped with dishwasher and washing machine.

The apartment is bright and airy. It has wooden floors throughout. The apartment is uncluttered and so feels quite spacious despite being modest in size (60 square meters/ 645 square feet). There is a communal garden for residents.

Neighborhood

You can walk to all the main attractions that Dublin has to offer from here. It is close to museums, theaters, restaurants, pubs, clubs and shops. It is just a couple of small blocks west of the Temple Bar area, where you will find lots of Dublin's nightlife and music. It would be hard to find a better location from which to explore the town.

An easy 15 minute walk to the West of the apartment are the gates of Phoenix Park, the largest enclosed urban park in Europe (double the size of New York's Central Park and five times the size of London's Hyde Park): 1,740 acres. I jog there often and love to see the free-roaming deer.

There is also easy access to great nature in the vicinity of Dublin by public transport (particularly along the coasts to the North and South of Dublin). Since I am in the middle of the city center, I do not run a car, but regularly hire one from a nearby company for weekends away. It's 3-4 hours drive to the West coast of Ireland from here. Plenty of tour buses to the West coast and other parts of the island also leave from Dublin.

About Us

My name is Robert. I'm an academic working at Trinity College Dublin. In my spare time I enjoy eating out, art galleries, exercise and nature.

Destination

For now, I'm mainly interested in an exchange in New York City for August or September of 2008. One week or longer.
