Beautiful 3 BR 2BA home on 6 acres close to the quaint mountain town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Stunning views of the San Juan Mountains and easy access to all kinds of mountain outdoor activities in the millions of acres of National Forest and Wilderness area that surround Pagosa Springs.
Our two story home was built in 2005 and many large windows take advantage of the incredible views from every room. A gas fireplace in the living room with large screen TV provides a cozy spot for the evening. A wrap around deck on the main level gives you options for outdoor dining/activities - in the shade or in the sun. There is also a private deck off the master bedroom upstairs. The master bathroom has a corner jacuzzi tub for two and a multiple jet shower.
DSL internet service is connected at the house for hi-speed access to the internet.
A gas grill is available for cookouts, and patio furniture make the deck another living space in nice weather. There is a children's play set in the yard - swings, climbing wall, slides, etc.
We have seen the following animals near our home - eagles, hawks, wild turkey, deer, elk, porcupine, coyotes, foxes, lynx, black bear and moose!
We do have horse corrals and pasture available on the property, please contact us if you would like to bring your horses to enjoy the incredible trails in the area. You can ride or hike off of our property into Nat'l Forest in less than a mile. We will also consider outdoor dogs in the fenced yard and garage can be used for a nightime 'dog house'.
Neighborhood
Our home is situated in a quiet neighborhood northwest of the town of Pagosa Springs. All homes are on acerage, so it is very quiet and peaceful. We live on a culdesac, so there is very little traffic. It is a very safe and friendly area.
Pagosa Springs is located in southwestern Colorado, about 30 miles north of the New Mexico border and 60 miles east of Durango, Colorado. You can find lots of information on Pagosa, including webcam views of the area, at www.Pagosa.com. Fishing (lake and stream), hiking, hot springs, scenic drives, golfing, cross country skiing or downhill skiing at Wolf Creek Pass in winter, small towns with interesting western history are all readily available. The town of Pagosa Springs has a developed hot springs site (there are others that are not developed accessible via hiking), and has several good restaurants, art galleries, shopping, couple of grocery stores and all of the typical amenities. Our home is 9 miles from town on well maintained dirt and paved roads.
Durango - which qualifies as a small city is 60 miles away, Santa Fe New Mexico is a three hour drive. Both of these cities make a great day or overnight trip with lots to see and do and plenty of good shopping, restaurants, etc.
About Us
We are Lisa and Mark, a married couple with two young children. We both work full time for a large IT company, and have the good fortune to have remote jobs - we can work from anywhere that has high speed internet connection and good phone service. We love many outdoor activities - horseback riding, swimming, boating, fishing, scuba diving, skiing, hiking, camping and general sightseeing in new places. Our children also love to travel.
We are interested in traveling to beach / good snorkeling diving areas in the US and Mexico, and maybe Australia next year. We are interested in a late December trip to Tucson, AZ. We are also open to exploring new areas all over the world and would love to hear about your trade offer.
This home is our vacation home, so we do not have to do a concurrent trade.
Destination
This can be a non-simultaneous exchange, as this is our vacation home. Dates are flexible, but we do have to work with public school holidays and vacation times
