Description

Our house is part of charming group of seven houses that surround lovely tropical gardens with a pool and jacuzzi for common use. The place is charming and welcoming, and there are several nice dogs and cats, though not ours. Our house was recently remodeled and expanded to comprise of three bedrooms on the first floor, and one on the main floor. The third floor is an access to a private terrace with exquisite views of the topical foliage and the surrounding central valley mountains.
We are a family of four, as we have two little girls. My husband is a retired immunologist and dentist/acupuncturist, and I work in the travel business. We have had two very nice experiences with home exchanges and look forward to meeting more exchange partners.
We are responsible people who will take care of your home as if it were ours.

Neighborhood

Santa Ana is a rural suburb 12 kilometers west of San Jose in the Central Valley. This location has several advantages: its elevation provides a wonderful climate which averages 25 degrees celsius year round with low humidity. The surrounding mountains covered with tropical vegetation make for great hiking and splendid views. A ten minute drive takes you to central San Jose with its theatres and shopping attractions.
Most tours originating from San Jose, this is a central location for touring our beautiful country: we are a 2-hour drive from Pacific beaches; 3-hour drive from Atlantic coast; 45 minutes from Poas and Irazu volcanoes; 35 minutes from cloud forests.
The Sunday market is very popular and you will fill your refrigerator for the week with an incredible variety of fruits and vegetables for less than $20!

About Us

Destination

We are quite flexible regarding dates as we plan to spend both the month of June and July in Marseille. We can organize a simultaneous as well as a non-simultaneous house exchange, as we own two houses in the same group of seven houses. This has the advantage of allowing exchangers to meet, and we can help you organize your Costa Rican tour also. For groups larger than four, we can arrange for a home exchange with our other offer 1443 "Tropicasa with Pool" depending on availability.
In August, we would like to travel ideally to Greece, Italy, or Sicily.
