Description

Our bungalow is in a nice quiet area, has two bedrooms and one bathroom. Two toilets. Loft conversion available if occasional accommodation required. Large conservatory with gas fire on to large garden. Burglar alarm. At present we have a coal/log real fire in the large lounge but are thinking of converting to a gas fire. Large gas cooker/fridge/freezer. Lovely neighbours. Parking on private drive for at least three cars. Opposite park. Local shops a 10 min. walk away. Lovely Owston Golf Club/Hotel/Restaurant close by. York/Sheffield/Leeds all approx. half hour away by car or train. Public transport is on the same street as our bungalow which will take you into town or to local train stain for access to all major cities in England. Train to London every half hour and takes approx. 1.1/2 hrs to get there. Motorway to travel either North or South is only minutes away.

This is a pet free, no smoking home.

Neighborhood

There are quiet walks all around the area. Cusworth museum being a lovely 10-15 min. ride away and has free entry with lovely parkland and coffee shop. Brodsworth Hall is again a lovely old house with nice coffee shop and grounds just up the road from our home. It is a National Trust property so payment on entry is required.

Yorkshire Dales is approx. 1 hour away with fantastic scenery. Sheffield/Leeds are approx. half hour away by either train or car. Local railway station close by where you can park your car. York is approx. 45 mins from our home. Again you can either park up at McArthur Glen Shopping Outlet (half hour away) and get the park and ride into the centre of York or drive to York in approx 3/4 of an hr.

About Us

We are a retired couple. My husband was a Manager with ICI and I too worked there as PA to the Works Manager. We are interested in walking, reading, gardening, cooking, DIY, keeping fit at the local gym!

We have a wide circle of friends, mostly professional people i.e. Mining Engineer, Teachers, Social Worker, Manager in the retail industry.

Destination

I have added other destinations other than Australia, which would be our main exchange. We don't mind long week-end breaks or anything up to a month in any of the other destinations.The dates are reasonably flexible. We would prefer to stay just 3 months but if it ran into 4 we wouldn't complain! Due to family we need to be in or around the Townsville area of Australia in the state of Queensland. It does really need to be a simultaneous exchange but we could overlap a few days at either end if required.
