Description

Beautiful, modern home with large windows overlooking private lakes front and back. Use of car, canoe, kayaks, paddle boat, fishing rods. Twenty minutes to beaches and historic, charming Charleston. Located on our own private 52 wooded acres with walking trails and 15 acres of lakes with 2 docks. No other houses in sight! House has porches, deck, whirlpool tub, cable TV, all modern appliances. Wildlife is abundant. We used to swim in the lakes, but no longer do because of the alligators. They are afraid of people and pose no risk. However, we do not recommend swimming with them. Boating is totally safe.
The house and car both have air conditioning. Charleston is quite warm in the summer.

Neighborhood

Charleston offers horse and carriage tours, harbor tours, off shore fishing boats, gardens, theaters, art museums, cobblestone streets, aquarium, maritime museum, flea market, vegetable market, historic plantations, forts, shopping and world class restaurants. See www.charlestoncity.info/ for city info. Twenty minutes to Charleston, Folly Beach and Seabrook Island. Also, you would be welcome to use the car for longer side trips to the mountains, etc

About Us

Two adults. Recently retired. Quiet, responsible couple sensitive to your concerns about taking care of your home and property. We will be happy to water your house plants, etc.. Our preferred length of exchange would be between 10 days and 4 weeks but will consider any time frame. Our preferred destination is Europe but will consider any area.

Destination

Being retired, we are very flexible as to length of stay and dates. We would like an exchange with one or two responsible adults.
