Description

Our home is a new designer family friendly 5 bedroom (plus an office, game room, and theater room), 4 bath, 4,300 sq ft two story home located on a cul-de-sac backing up to the well known Grey Rock golf course. We’ve been told the home is decorated like a model home – lots of faux painting, art, and decorations, but we’ve done our best to make it casual, comfortable, and family friendly (no china collections here – we have two boys, 4 and 2).

Our favorite feature is the large outdoor living area with built in grill and fireplace off the back with views of a beautiful wooded greenbelt. For those of you that must work while here, the office features a laptop with wireless high speed internet access, a laser printer, and a fax machine. The home is a media lovers delight with a HD Tivo, a XBox 360, and a 300+ movie jukebox (half are children’s movies) that all are available on any of the 3 HD TVs (including two wall-mounted LCD TVs – one in the master, one in the living) or in the dedicated theater room with surround sound and plush seating. For the kids, outside there is a wood playscape and inside there is a large art/playroom upstairs with enough toys to keep them busy for hours. The master is downstairs and has views of the backyard greenbelt. Downstairs there is an additional guest room with full bath, formal dining, a living room, laundry room, 3 car garage, and a large open kitchen. Upstairs is kid land and has 2 children’s bedrooms connected by a full bath, the game room, the theater room, an additional full bath, and a kids study/spare bedroom with PC and futon. If desired, we can have a housekeeper come Mon-Fri and does all the cleaning, dishes, and laundry (we’ll be paying her anyway if you use her or not). We own a 2006 Chevy Tahoe and a 2007 Mustang convertible that we would exchanging. Our home is a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Neighborhood

Our street is very family oriented with well over 15 children under 10 out playing nightly. Our Southwest Austin neighborhood, the Meridian, is a new upscale master planned community with a great kid friendly pool and small lake for fishing and exploring. It is a 15 minute drive to downtown Austin, a 25 minute drive to Lake Travis, and has all the shopping you’ll need nearby. The area is close to everything but still maintains a relaxed country feel.

Austin is the capital of Texas and home to the University of Texas. It has been designated "Best Little City in America" from National Geographic Traveler magazine (Nov. 2006 issue). Austinites are largely an outdoorsy, health conscious bunch that enjoy jogging, walking, rowing, and biking on paths along local creeks and around Town Lake at the heart of downtown. Austin boasts a thriving live music scene which includes blues, jazz, country, folk, rock, alternative, Tejano. During the summer months one can take advantage of the several free outdoor concerts. The South by Southwest (SXSW) Music and Film Festival in mid-March, a major international event, featuring almost a thousand bands from all over the world and screenings of cutting-edge films. The city also has an opera company, symphony, ballet and other dance groups, numerous choral and chamber groups, and live theater.

Austin is 45 minutes from the lovely Texas Hill Country and wine country. 1.2 hours from San Antonio. 2.5 hours from Houston and 3.5 hours from Dallas. If you stay a weekend or for a couple months, you’ll always have plenty to do.

About Us

We are a family of 4. Jon and Tiffany own and run a local computer consulting company. We have 2 boys, Jackson (4) and Connor (2). Due to having children, we can exchange mostly on holidays and in the summer. We enjoy traveling to places with lots of outdoor activities and family-friendly outings.
