Description

Our home was built in 1975 by the owner of an apartment construction company with pier and beam foundation, and mostly hardwood or Italian tile floors spread over 5,000 square feet and 15 rooms, including two full kitchens. The living room is 9 meters by 9 meters with double vaulted skylights and features an 1878 Steinway grand piano. The solarium behind the living room has 9 meters of floor to ceiling windows overlooking the 13 meter pool, the deck with 6-person spa and the creek, pond and fountains behind. With three zones of heating and air conditioning, the temperature in the house will stay where you set it. The four bedrooms contain two king-size Duxiana beds, one queen-size Murphy bed and one double bed. The vaulted ceiling library has one wall (8 meters long) of floor to ceiling bookshelves containing more than 1,800 books ranging from the classics to modern mysteries and spy novels. We have satellite TV routed through three receivers (two of which are digital video recorders) to five televisions, two of which are high-definition. We also have a DSL internet connection and a wireless router. Also available is a Jacuzzi tub in the master bath, as well as the following sports equipment: golf clubs, bicycles, kayak, tennis racquets, croquet, volleyball area in the backyard, basketball court in the driveway.

Neighborhood

The house is on a one-acre lot in the Cloisters section of East Dallas close to the intersection of Hillgreen Drive and West Lawther Drive. If you Google White Rock Lake, Dallas, and look at the West side of the lake, you will see the neighborhood in the satellite view on Google Maps.
Our lot is hilly, treed and 200 meters from the 1,000 acre White Rock Lake set in the middle of a city park that stretches for more than 16 kilometers towards the suburbs. We are 8 kilometers from the city center, but less than two kilometers from two major shopping areas. The light rail transit station is approximately 1 km from the house. The lake is one of the largest in-city recreational areas in the entire country and features a cultural center, an arboretum, a rowing club, public tennis courts, horseback riding trails and two sailing clubs where foreign visitors are made welcome. The bicycle and jogging path around the lake is approximately 15 kilometers and visitors will see bountiful wildlife, including pelicans (in season), ducks, geese, hawks, nutria, squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons, possum and an occasional bobcat.

About Us

Most of the information about us can be found when Googling our names, as they are quite unique. With more than 1000 references, we are quite identifiable. Both of us are professionals. One in the oil and gas industry and the other in heart research. We only speak English, but do have some (very limited) understanding of German and Spanish.

Destination

We are sailing in the World Masters Snipe Championship August 31-September 3, 2008 and are looking for a nice place to stay in the Malmo area.
