Our house is situated about 2km from the town centre. It has 4 bedrooms (2 en-suite) 1 large bathroom, kitchen/living room ,sitting room/ conservatory, utility room, and all mod cons included. The house itself is only 6 years old and is detached and located on its own large private site with beautiful panoramic views of the mountains and ocean. We have a large garage , grass and tarmac areas ( ideal for children playing) We have large range of childrens toys. There is a trampoline in the garden along with swings and slides and 2 bicycles and large go cart. Everything really that a child would want

Neighborhood




The town of Westport is a seaside town and is one of the most popular tourist towns in Ireland. It is a very beautiful place with a population of 4000 people and has the prestigious title of "Irelands tidiest town" in 2003 and agai this year. It is also a winner of the gold medal in the European Entente Florale Competition . There are 5 blue flag beaches within 10 miles of the town. There are numerous good restaurants and 6 recommended hotels. The nightlife in Westport is excellent as there are numerous good pubs, many of which have nightly entertainment.


Westport is an ideal base from where to discover the West of Ireland. 30 mins to Achill Island, 15mins to Croagh Patrick, 10 mins to award winning blue flag beach, 5 mins to Championship Golf Course, 1hr boat trip to Clare Island,1hr to Galway City. You can assertain from the above that Westport is one of the best places in Ireland to holiday .


About Us

My name is Peter Carney and I live in Westport, Co. Mayo, Ireland. I am a Principal teacher of a Primary school and my wife is also a teacher . We have one daughter aged 8 and a son 6 years old.
We have had 10 exchanges to date and all have worked out really well. I can put you in touch with any of the families whom we have exchange with and they can give you their views on our home and the West of Ireland in general
