Description

Our home was totaly renovated in 2007/2008. Our waterfront home offers a country atmosphere with the world class city of Montreal within 15 minute drive. We have 3 /4 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. The main floor is an open plan with a great room with 20 foot ceilings and 10ft windows on all sides with 360 view of the water.The kitchen is fully equipped including wine fridge, granite counters, bar with leather stools, etc. The formal diningroom is a round room with a Krugg dining room set with ample china for you fine dining expereince. The outside terrace provides an area for dining under stars and listening to the concerts in the local park down our beach every Monday and Thrusday evenings. The home is a classic French Country looking house with a very modern interior style.
We are a professional family, husband and wife with grown children who live in Australia and the Phillipines. We have lived in Europe and are well travelled.
We would love to find an exchange with someone who wants to come to Montreal, Canada for a winter experience in December /Jan 2008/09.
We also have a mountain country house which is one hour north of Montreal and about 20 minutes from Tremblant. We would include this house as part of the swap if we could find similar accomodation in Australia.
We love our new home for it's seamless luxury. We think the master bathroom with it's glass walk in shower, dual vessel sinks, luxurious zen tub can offer any traveller a spa link experience.
We have taken great care to provide a lakeview form most rooms.
As we are avid readers the house if full of ample literature for your reading pleasure.We can also provide the services of a caterer if need be.
As our daughter is a food and travel writer we can set up any travel and dining needs for you as well.
Montreal is a great city as most of you probably know, so come and get to know it as a true Montrealer would.

Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is called Dorval and is on the shores of Lac St Louis. We are on a penninsula with eight houses. We are in a hidden location off a small street.
This location provides us with the privacy we love.
We have 200ft on the waterfront with a view to the west. Needless to say the sunsets are glorious.
We are 5 minutes to the international airport. The local library is a 5 minute walk.
There are all sorts of shops within a 10 min drive.
Restaurants are so plentiful we do not know where to begin.
Montreal is known for Food and culture. There are festivals throughout the year that attract visitors from every corner of the globe. From Jazz to Film to Grand Prix to Sports we have it all. We have museums galore as well. History buffs will love all of our museums which plentiful. Sports venues are also a large part of the Montreal face. Hockey, skiing skating in winter and sailing, boating, soccer, etc in the summer.
Montreal is a clean safe city with an international reputation. French and English as well as many other languages can be heard in Montreal. We have a vibrant Chinatown, Little Italy,a truly wonderful Old Montreal as well as many other interesting areas to explore.
Montreal is also a central city from where you can visit other areas in Canada.
We could continue to sing the praises of Montreal but the best way to enjoy a city is to visit it.

About Us

We are a family with three grown children and three grandchildren 9,7 and 6.. We consist of a Researcher father, former high school teacher mother. Our children live in Sydney, AU. Manila, Phillipines and Montreal Canada.We have often all travelled together and visited other countries. We are very interested in History, culture, food and the great outdoors. We love to visit local areas of places we visit. Meeting local people we have found is a wonderful way to learn about the place s we travel to.
We would love to find a family such as ourselves who have grown children and even grandchildren who would want to exchange our home or homes with us.
We would ideally like to find a family who has a city house near Sydney and then a country house as well.
