Neighborhood

Clontarf is a suburb situated on the coast of Dublin Bay within 3 miles of the very heart of Dublin city centre. Clontarf enjoys all the benefits of suburban living - a small family run supermarket, deli & fresh fish shop, local restaurants are all 10mins walk - with superb access to the city centre via frequent bus or train services. Hop on a bus and you will be in the famous Abbey Theatre within 15minutes!
For more active pursuits, our house is situated a few metres away from the Coastal walkway which runs all the way from Clontarf along the north coast of Dublin Bay to Howth. It is possible to cycle all the way to Howth on safe cycle paths. As enthusiastic cyclists we can provide 6 bikes for your use! The Bull Island bird Sanctuary, beach and golf courses are all just 10mins by bike. We are also situated very close to Croke Park, the national stadium for Gaelic games. On summer afternoons it is often possible to hear the roar of the crowd on the breeze! There is also a large park nearby, and only a short drive to Howth Head for sailing, scenery and cliff walks.

About Us

We are an Irish family with 4 young children from age 10 years down to 2. We have a large period family home which is recently renovated but shows some signs of wear & tear! The garden is small but faces West and enjoys evening sunshine for summer barbeques.
We have lived overseas for many years and enjoy travelling. The last country we lived in was Holland so when we returned to Ireland we brought a love of cycling and boating back home! Peter is involved in advertising and marketing & Joanne runs her own business from home.
We love living in Clontarf as we are within minutes of the city centre but all the local amenities are a short bike ride away. We also enjoy the outdoors and this area provides us with direct access to the sea, beach, sailing and coastal walks.
Cooking is a passion of Peter's so we have excellent cooking facilities with large range, barbeque and plenty of cookbooks for experimentation.
With so many kids , everything in the house is designed to be practical. There is a main family bathroom for kids use with en-suite shower room in the master bedroom. Downstairs there is a large utility room with shower and toilet for washing sandy feet. We have no precious artefacts or antiques but love design and architecture and like to think this is reflected as far as kids allow in the design and layout of the kitchen in particular.
