Appox. 2000 sq ft fully furnished home located in the Los Angeles gem neighborhood, Eagle Rock (LA, CA 90041) overlooking liberal arts college, Occidental's campus (where the film Legally Blond was filmed). Mid-century modern style home with three levels including: a detached garage at the street level with a recently renovated additional bedroom/office/studio above the garage (chalet style w/ a/c, t.v. and internet connection and futon); first level is a den with a balcony, flatscreen tv, wetbar, sleeper sofa, private entrance and interior staircase to top/main living level; main/top level has two large bedrooms with private entrances (one with king size bed and one with full size bed), 2 bathrooms; eat-in kitchen; living room and laundry room with washer and dryer. Additionally there are several outdoor entertaining spaces with amazing views plus a gas grill, fire pit and 2 person infrared sauna.

Beautiful views (including mountains, city lights and rolling hills) from every window...quiet residential street w/ free parking...beautiful mature trees and wildlife...5-10 minutes from downtown L.A., Pasadena, Silverlake, Los Feliz and Burbank; 20 minutes to Hollywood; appox 20 miles to Santa Monica beach. The Eagle Rock neighborhood is one of L.A.'s best kept secrets...cute shops, cafes and bars...great dining at affordable prices, family friendly and so convenient.

The main house currently does not have a/c but the studio space above garage does. Although you generally do not need a/c in LA (especially in the hills where we are) we are attempting to have a/c installed before summer 2008 and will update this listing when we do. The college campus that is walking distance from our home has several activities for children over the summer including swimming lessons in their heated pool and theatrical performances. Additionally, you can use the school's recreational facilities (including tennis, basketball, track, workout room, pool) for a very small fee.

Neighborhood

Great location close to downtown L.A., Burbank studios, Pasadena, trendy Silverlake/Los Feliz areas. AMAZING VIEWS! Quiet safe street with nice neighbors...lots of places to hike, walk and bike in the area...extremely family friendly...great local music festival in August and farmers' market every Friday night!

About Us

We are a family of five looking for adventure and relaxation! My husband is an artist and I am in the legal field. We have three well-behaved kids, a girl age 7, and two boys ages 13 and 15. We are non-smoking, tidy people. We collect mid-century modern furnishings and art. We love to explore nature and especially love art and antique festivals!

Destination

I am taking the California Bar the last week of July and am interested in vacationing for a week or more right afterwards. While we can only be abroad for a maximum of two weeks, our L.A. home is available for closer to one month as we plan on staying at our other home in Florida following our trip to your home. I am specifically interested in Croatia and/or staying someplace where the exchange rate is favorable for the U.S. dollar. We must have to have access to family friendly activities and nice weather! We are looking for a low key, hassle-free vacation with adventure and relaxation:)
