Description

Wooded, mountain, rustic setting with a brand new country cottage (completing the finishing touches, living in it as of August 30, 2008!) Our house ended up being 1837 square feet as well as a full unfinished basement. There are front & back porches for taking in the view, watching the wild life or reading a good book. A split bedroom floor plan, with open great room/kitchen area with a bay window. Medium hickory laminate floors throughout, light natural hickory kitchen cabinets, black quartz countertops, Satin Silver (like stainless without fingerprints!) appliances, and a five foot shower in the master bath for big/tall fellas like my honey! We have 18 windows on the main floor plus a french door out to the upper deck - taking advantage of that awesome mountain view. A small patio is off the walk-out basement.

Neighborhood

Approximate 7 mile drive from Mountain Home city limits with a beautiful countryside mountain view. Hike on 18 wooded acres, climb a few low rocks, and cross a wet-weather stream. Great Neighbors are close by, but not right on top of you.

Mountain Home is nestled in the Ozarks Mountains in an area of 2 lakes (Bull Shoals & Norfork) and 3 rivers (Norfork, White & Buffalo). Great hunting, fishing, wildlife, and scenery abound! Bring your boat! Mountain Home is a growing college (ASU) town with several new chain restuarants such as Chili's, El Chico, Colton's Steak House as well as great local fare. Enjoy antique and thrift shops, and other small town activites, or just hang out at the lake. There is a fun "T-bucket" gathering every July for you car lovers (such as my husband!)

Take in a show in Branson (about 2 hours away) or shop in Springfield, MO. In Eureka Springs, AR, see the Passion Play, view historic "painted ladies" arts, and shops! There are lots of things to see and do in those areas. We're also about 4 hours each from Memphis and St. Louis area (we drive it it quite often since we have grown kids living in or near both those cities.)

About Us

I'm 50 something and my husband is 60 something, 3 grown kids, 11 grands. Husband is partner with son at our garage door business. Wife is Director at a local non-profit. Husband enjoys NASCAR, Late Great Chevys, and hot rods. Wife enjoys reading, music & playing with the kitties and the grands. We both enjoy traveling and experiencing new places. We are active in our local church, and enjoy small groups. We have 3 sweet female cats each with distinct personalites that keep us entertained and laughing. You'll love our "star-studded" line-up of kitties when you stay at our house - Dolly Madison (Snowshoe), Gracie Allen (Dilute Calico), and Molly Brown (Himalayan) will be there to greet you. Molly Brown even plays fetch! (Please note: this home would not be a good place to stay if you have allergies to cats!)

Destination

We would prefer June, July or August as our first preference, then possibly October. We'd love to go out West such as Montana, Colorado or Wyoming in the summer, and maybe New England states in the fall to see the color, but are open to most any state (with the exception of Alaska or Hawaii as we will probably drive to our destination). We'd love an ocean view sometime, too - if not 2008, perhaps 2009! We prefer a house rather than a condo, but would depend upon the location. Will consider most anywhere in the good old USA!

(Might be interested in a Christmas holiday get away, as well.)
