25 acre pine treed, non-working ranch in CO mountains (8400 alt); 20 miles to infamous gold mining town of Cripple Creek. Mountain views all around. 2 mile road around property for horse or bike ride or walk. House has 2 full baths, 3 large bedrooms, lots of windows for sunlight; large lr, kitchen/dining rm, office area. satellite big screen tv, satellite computer hookup. Newly re-modeled in 2006 with all new appliances; frig, dishwasher, stove, w&d, new carpet in master suite (w/private ba rm) & lr, tiled floors in rest of house. Deck for eating out; picnic tables, outside fireplace for grilling or enjoying cool evenings. Loads of wood to burn..woodstove heat w/backup propane furnace; cold refreshing well water. Scenery out every window; animals daily: black tuft-eared squirrels; deer, many species of birds, hear the coyotes nightly, humming birds (feeder). Walk-out patio and when it rains a rock water trail you can view from inside or out; Proprane and electric grill outside. Absolutely spectacular sunrises and sunsets each am and pm year round. Complete privacy if you wish or neighbors are over the hill if you wish to communicate. Newspapers & mail boxes are down the 2 1/2 mile lane to the county road. SCENERY, SCENERY, SCENERY, SCENERY ALL AROUND!

Neighborhood

Cripple Creek historic town and casinos 20 miles away. Historic Guffey town 17 miles away. Grocery and hardware in Cripple Creek south and Divide east 20 miles away. Colorado Springs 55 miles away for tourist attractions: US Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods (rock climbing, rent horses, hike or bike), Sky Sox AAA Baseball, COS Airport, Royal Gorge bridge (highest suspension in US) 55 miles, whitewater rafting in Canon City (55 miles). Denver 60 miles from Colorado Springs; Rockies, Denver Broncos, Avalanche and many, many more tourist sites.

About Us

We are two retired local gov employees and are enjoying our down time, finally. We've had many tragic events and illnesses in the recent past and are finally attempting to enjoy life's little miracles. We have two adorable Yorkie-poo puppies 2 & 3 yo and they travel with us everywhere we go. We have 4 children (2 deceased) and 6 grandchildren we just adore. We did have horses when the children were here, but now we enjoy our puppies and the wildlife and traveling. We enjoy the ocean and have traveled to the OR coast the last few years and to Cape May, NJ for 2 mo vacations.

Destination

Can be a non-simultaneous exchange; dates are definitely flexible; specific states in US are Oregon and Hawaii and Alaska and Puerto Rico.

Specific areas/cities in Italy are Florence, Como, Sicily, Tuscany, Palermo.
Preference would be to visit local areas and stay with local residents and learn about, and work in the areas if appropriate.

Time of year and length of stay would depend on where the trip would take place.
