Description

1920's home with lots of original character, living room, dining room, eat in kitchen, den, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Sunny front porch and back deck off kitchen for bbq and quiet evening retreat. Our 2 teenage daughters utilize the renovated attic for their 2 bedrooms and sitting area. Main Floor contains rest of the rooms along with master bedroom. Gas stove and fully equipped kitchen. Tenant living in basement suite.

Neighborhood

We are one block from artistic Main Street area of the city. One block to public transit, lots of coffee shops, ethnic restaurants and trendy shops within walking distance. 5 km to downtown, Stanley Park, Kits Beach and close to lots of the city sights. Walking distance to Queen Elizabeth Park, Nat Bailey Stadium, Science Centre, Granville Island (if you like a long walk). We have wonderful neighbors who if they are in the city when you are visiting would be happy to give you tips about the neighborhood. Happy to answer any specific questions about the city/area.

About Us

We are a married couple with 2 teenage daughters. I am an office manager for 4 labour arbitrators in the city and my husband is employed with Canada Post. One daughter is finishing high school this year heading off to college and both are involved in basketball, volleyball & softball during the school year and enjoy sports generally. My husband and I enjoy music, vacationing, yoga, walking, movies, good food & wine and enjoying time with family and friends.

Destination

Would like an exchange for New York City or Brooklyn during the period from August 13 to September 1, 2008. Our home could be available for longer than 1 week in August but we would only need 1 week in August.

Would also consider an exchange in August 2008 to Ireland.

At a later date would consider other exchanges as well.
