Description

The apartment is situated in a quiet area of Alvor,twelve minutes walking distance from the beach and the centre of the village.It is on the top floor of a two storey building and has beautiful views of the sea from the lounge and main bedroom balconies and views of the Monchique mountains from the kitchen window.The lounge is quite rustic with terracotta tiles and a high vaulted beamed ceiling.It has satellite television and a DVD player.The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven,microwave,fridge,freezer and washing machine.There are two bedrooms,one double and the other with twin beds.There is one bathroom directly situated between the two bedrooms.

Neighborhood

Alvor is a lovely fishing village situated on a river estuary.There is a picturesque harbour where the fishermen moor their boats and a promenade where you can stroll along or just sit at a cafe and appreciate the view. The apartment is ideally situated as it is close to Alvor and to the beach.The beach stretches for three kilometres and has beautiful rock formations at one end and a breakwater at the other.Also there are lots of beach restaurants to chose from.There are several lovely walks close by eg walking by the estuary,along by the river,or over the hills into Praia da Rocha.There is a bus stop one minutes walk from the apartment and this bus will take you into Portimao which is the nearest large town.There is good range of local shops in Alvor and a variety of restaurants to suit all tastes ,from the local fish restaurants where the fish is barbecued outside,to several Indian,Chinese and Italian restaurants.

About Us

Steve and I are a retired couple in our mid fifties.We left England seven years ago to come and live in the Algarve.I used to work as a primary school teacher and Steve worked as an engineer.We have a lovely well trained border collie,Dylan who has travelled all over Europe with us without any problem.We enjoy the out door life here and take full advantage of the beautful weather and scenery to go walking and driving off road.We did a house swap several years ago to Switzerland and really enjoyed the experience.

Destination

Spain:We would prefer to be in Andalucia but not on the coast.

Portugal:We would like to be in the North of Portugal.

France:As we would be travelling with our dog we do not want to travel too far so we would prefer to be somewhere near the Pyrenees Atlantiques.
