Description

We live 45 minutes from Guadalajara, Mexico's second largest city and 2 minutes from the mountain village of Ajijic.
(Note that Guadalajara is inland - not on the beach.)

Our house has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, high speed internet, 2 TVs, washer/dryer, microwave oven and dishwasher.

CAR EXCHANGE: A 2006 Honda Fit automobile is included.

HOUSEKEEPING: The exchange includes maid and gardener 5 days a week. We have a black standard poodle, Rolex (watch dog). He can stay or be boarded.

Neighborhood

Ajijic is a 400 year old fishing village with cobblestone streets. The elevation is 5,000 feet. With mountains in the background and Lake Chapala below, this region has one of the best climates in the world. Average daily temperatures are in the 70's with very low humidity. Most nights a light jacket is required. Central heating or air conditioning is not required here.

The Lake Chapala area was discovered by Europeans in the 1940's and became a writer and artist's colony. It is now home to one of the largest communities of US and Canadian expats in Mexico.
