Description

Our home is approximately one hundred years old, semi-detached and with a country-cottage feel. The ground floor is open-plan, light and airy. The oak kitchen has many traditional features, a solid fuel rayburn stove, electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine. Off the kitchen, the dining / music room has a large dining table and a piano. The cosy living room has two sofas and a gas fuelled stove in a log-burner style, flat screen digital TV and music system. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. Two wooden cots can be provided. The bathroom is bright and contains a bath with a two-way mixer shower and WC. There is also a studio apartment in the grounds which contains a further double bedroom and a WC / basin. We have an safe, enclosed garden with a patio area, outdoor seating, table and parasol, lawn, large summer house, shed, studio apartment, children's play house, slide, seesaw, hammock, barbecue etc. We also have two bikes at your disposal, one with a child seat.

Neighborhood

We are in a residential area ten minutes walk from the centre of the renowned medieval town of Ludlow, in Shropshire, described as 'the loveliest town in England'. It is famous for its beautifully preserved historical buildings, its fine Norman castle, parish church and the pretty rolling countryside that surrounds it.
Food lovers will be aware of Ludlow's reputation as a gastronomic hotspot, with its Michelin starred restaurants, its traditional pubs, its world famous food festival, its local markets and its strong tradition of top quality local produce.
The river Teme flows through the town, and there is lovely woodland, gentle hills and open countryside all within walking distance.
Our home is two minutes walk from a local shop and a post-office and five to ten minutes walk from pubs, restaurants, open air markets and large shops.
Further afield you can enjoy the larger historic towns of Hereford and Shrewsbury, both approximately twenty-five miles away. The cultural and commercial centre of Birmingham is just over an hour away, or you can get away from it all by going west into Wales, which is only a few miles away for some rugged mountain walking, or a trip to the Welsh coast, about one and a half hours drive. Walkers will also appreciate the beautiful 'Long Mynd' area of the Stretton Hills, known as 'Little Switzerland' just fifteen miles North.
We are only five minutes walk from a direct train link between Cardiff and Manchester, and there is an extensive bus network.
