Description

Our house is a 1930s mid terrace house. It is decorated in a modern stlye with carpets throughout the upstairs bedrooms and wooden floors throughout the downstairs living areas. It has a large kitchen/diner that makes a pleasant central family space with a double oven, five hob cooking range, perfect for someone who enjoys cooking large family meals. The house contains all the modern convienences that would be expected in a family house, a larder style fridge/freezer, new washing machine, dishwasher etc. The living room is cosy with leather sofas.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, both with double beds, and a single child's bedroom. The master bedroom currently houses a cot, which could be moved if desired. The house is well equiped for a family with children and babies, with highchairs, cots, toys, car seats for the car, baby bath, bikes including child seats, that anyone is welcome to borrow.

Neighborhood

Athone Road is ideally suited in London for anyone visiting central london. It is a walk through an attractive park or bus ride to the underground station at Brixton which is only 15 minutes to central london. Brixton itself has a vibrant market which sells anything and everything, and a good town centre for shopping. It has bars and cheap resturants and cafes.

Our house is also situated close to Herne Hill, a walk across the beautiful Brockwell Park, where you can find good local shops and cafes. A little further on Dulwich provides another great park and villagey shops and cafes. Both parks have cafes and good playgrounds, football fields and other sports facilities. Brockwell park also has a pool and a new gym and leisure centre with yoga classes etc. The entrance to Brockwell park is at the end of our road.

About Us

We have two children, one girl aged four and a boy of nearly one. My husband is training to be a social worker and I am a landscape architect. We have family in Sydney, Australia and we are hoping to go and see them this christmas (hence looking for a swap).

Destination

We are looking for somewhere in Sydney to stay near my brother who lives in Clovelly. We are planning to go for a month, from the 12 Dec to the 12 Jan, but we will be happy to find alternative accomodation for some of that time if necessary.
