Description

2 Bedroom/2Bath apartment in the center of the best New York City neighborhoods (Greenwich Village) with easy access to all parts of the city. The apartment is in a luxury full service building, with a doorman and full time staff.

The apartment is 1250 Sq. Ft./116 Sq. Meters, with a very large living room by NYC standards, a separate dining area, a large kitchen (again by NYC standards) with granite countertops and modern appliances (including a microwave oven and dishwasher). The master bedroom has a king size four-poster bed and its own a marble bathroom with a tub and shower. The second bedroom has a double bed, and there is a 2nd/guest marble bathroom with a shower. There are washers/dryers in the basement for your use.

The apartment is on the 11th floor of a 14 story modern apartment building. It faces south which means it gets lots of direct sun during the day.

Greenwich Village is one of the best residential neighborhoods in NYC and the apartment is quiet compared to other busier neighborhoods of the New York City. The only sound you'll hear from the outside is a car honking (every apartment in NY has this challenge!) and fireworks (but that is only on July 4th!).

The living room has a 46" HDTV, a CD/DVD player, cable television, and are are connected to a top of the line surround sound stereo system. There is network wireless connection (bring your own computer if you want to use it).

As I have a dog (who will not be here when you are here), if you are have a dog allergy, this is not a good apartment for you.

Young children/infants are not welcome in my aparment (I'm sorry); respectful and well behaved teenagers are welcome.

Smoking is not allowed in my apartment.

Neighborhood

Greenwich Village (GV) is an exciting place to live, and visit. It is an active, safe, neighborhood with great public transport service which makes it easy to travel to all parts of this city. There are many subway and bus stops nearby (8th St. and Astor Place are each 1 block away, Union Square 5 blocks away, and West 4th St. 8 blocks away), and getting around the city from GV is easy.

Greenwich Village - or 'The Village' as locals call it - is primarily a residential neighborhood in the heart of NYC, and itself a very exciting, historical, attractive area to spend time in. There is much to explore in this neighborhood, and it is very easy to get from here to all the other parts of the city. and nearby. There are many restaurants of all different cuisine nearby and within 3 blocks of the apartment you'll find: Mexican, Thai, Chiness, Japanese, Korean, Afghani, Cuban, Latin, Italian, Vietnamese, and, of course, a bagel shop!

GV is central for getting around NYC, and walking is a great way to explore this city. Within 20 to 30 minutes walking are many popular destinations, including Chinatown, Chelsea, Soho, and Midtown/Times Square. A short subway or bus ride will take you to these places as well, and to museums uptown, Wall Street, and anywhere else.

There are two parks nearby (Washington Square Park and Union Square Park). Around the corner are two supermarkets, a laundry/dry cleaner, a pharmacy, and every kind of store you'd want or need.

A car is not necessary - most New Yorkers use the excellent public transport system to get around the city - but if you have one there is parking on the street in the neighborhood and parking garages (one is across from the building).

There are many choices in the neighborhood and all around the city for nightlife from jazz and music clubs, to restaurants, to theater and dance performance houses, and more.

Everything you'd want to do in New York is both in The Village or easily accessible from

About Us

I am a semi-retired financial consultant. I enjoy exploring my own city, as well as places near and far. I have lived and worked in London and Panama, and have travelled to many places around the world. I love exploring new places, quiet times, reading, horseback riding, scuba diving (!), beaches, good food and wine, history and architecture, outdoor sports, hiking, travelling, and new cultures.

I am allergic to cats so I cannot stay in a home that has a cat or where a cat has been.

I do not smoke and am very considerate and respectful of others belongings and homes.

I will likely travel with my partner who is an interior designer, and sometimes with my brother and his partner.

Destination

Though this is my primary home, I can sometimes do a non-simultaneous exchange (as well as a simultaneous one). My dates and destinations are flexible...contact me and tell me when you'd like to visit NYC and when your can offer your home.
