Description

Our home is a 2000 sq. foot rambler style house built in 1998. Special features include a full available apartment on the lower level (2 bedrooms, full bath, kitchen, laundry and walk out basement patio). The upstairs includes a 16 x 13 sunroom with gas stove and 40" LCD/HD 1080p television. The master bedroom has a King size Tempurpedic bed. There is also a 2 car attached garage.

The yard is 130ft x 60 ft with a great view of the city of Rochester. There is a 50ft x 12ft garden in the backyard as well.

Neighborhood

Our neighbors are fantastic! Some have young children, and all are very friendly and helpful...including snow removal assistance! Not much traffic on our street, one block from public transportation, and only 3 miles from the Mayo Clinic. We also have a small park within 2 blocks of our house. We are about 1 mile from the nearest bike trail, and Rochester has MANY miles of bike trails. We are within 2 miles of the nearest golf course, which is 1 of 4 in the city of Rochester. There are many others in surrounding towns.

About Us

My wife, Lisa, and I are both educators in public school systems. I am an elementary phy. ed. teacher and Lisa is a middle school counselor. Lisa also does massage part-time and teaches one college night class on psychology for educators, and I work with other schools on juggling programs. We have been married for nearly 4 years--our first marriage for each of us, though it was later in life as we are both now in our early 40's. We have no children and no plans to have any in the future. My family lives 45 minutes from Rochester, and Lisa's family lives about 2 hours away. Lisa and I enjoy traveling and meeting new people and experiencing new things, so we think the house swap would be an affordable way to do this. Both of us really enjoy outdoor activities such as bicycling, canoing, golfing, yard games, gardening, (equipment which would be available for you to use). We also enjoy indoor activities such as internet surfing, board games, reading, t.v., and music.

Destination

We would like to stay in the state of Maine. At this time, we have not researched the exact location, but we are interested in outdoor activities. We would also like to be able to travel to Danielson, Connecticut. We have the summer months off, so our dates are somewhat flexible. It could be a non-simultaneous exchange because we have a full 2-bedroom private apartment in our lower level.
