Description

Located on the coast road, N86, between Tralee and Dingle, our one-storey house is just three years old with a very spacious kitchen/living area which opens onto a decking and patio and south-facing garden at the back. There's one more cosy living room (with wood-burning stove), four bedrooms (one with own bathroom) and a main bathroom. We have two small children (girl 4 and boy almost 2), so the house is very child-friendly with plenty of books, toys and safe outdoor space with bikes, swing, slide etc. We have a piano in the living area which is well used to children "experimenting" with sounds. Despite that, it's sufficiently in tune for adults to serenade each other when the kids are tucked away in bed.
In the bedrooms there are four double beds, 1 single, 1 baby's cot, 1 travel cot and a couple of single mattresses.
There's a washing machine and dryer in the utility room. The kitchen has a dishwasher, gas hob and electric oven and all the other usual gadgets (except microwave).

Neighborhood

Beautiful, scenic location with Slieve Mish mountains (and Dingle Way) to the back of the house and Tralee Bay and Atlantic Ocean within view to the front. Artist's paradise!
Only 2km to nearest beach and four fantastic, sandy beaches within just 8km, and many more along the peninsula.
Quite cul-de-sac runs past house offering panoramic views of sea.
Tralee town, 8km, has all amenities: swimming pools, cinema, theatre, galleries, supermarkets, shopping, indoor play areas (in case it rains).
Castlegregory, 16km, variety of watersports.
Horse riding, hill walking, beach walks all just down the road.
Old style pubs often with live music in nearby village.
Dingle 35 minutes, Killarney 45 minutes by car. Ring of Kerry and Skellig Rock also within driving distance.
We will be delighted to help you organise day trips and recommend restaurants, entertainment etc.
Friendly neighbours with children next door.
We will be happy to let you use our car, as public transport is very limited in the area.

About Us

Both involved in education. Mary is a German and French lecturer (and interested in jazz singing) and Dermot teaches English literature and film. Will be happy to recommend concert/gig venues. Our children will soon be 4(girl) and 2(boy), so the house is very child-friendly.

Destination

We are particularly interested in apartments in Berlin, especially in the Prenzlauer Berg area. Dates flexible. May consider non-simultaneous exchange.
