Unbeatable location, quiet street in desirable neighborhood of Barcelona. Completely remodeled 140 m2 flat in a modernist 100-year old building with elevator. Maintains charm of the old incorporating old ceramic tiles with exposed beams in some areas and natural wooden floors. All installations are updated. 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths + 1/2 bath. Sleeps 5, up to 7 with sofabed + 1 crib. Living room opens to balcony overlooking the street and gets plenty of natural lighting while bedrooms are on the quiet side. 1 king-size master bedroom with 2-shower bathroom and studio. 2 single rooms (beds can be combined to make 1 king-size bed that just fits in one room or separated to have 1 single bed in each room). 1 crib. Sofabed for 2. Washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven, gas stove. Heating & a/c. Home is equipped with internet, DVD, multiformat VCR, chef's kitchen opens up to living room facing the street. Little furniture and open plan makes the living area spacious.

No pets. No smoking home.

Open to discussing car exchange. Must have valid international driving license.

Neighborhood

Our home is located in the heart of Barcelona on a quiet street in the Eixample. Close to the sights, but far enough from the heart of the tourist scene. 2 blocks from Paseo de Gracia lined with Gaudi's architectural work and a 15 minute walk to Las Ramblas. Excellent dining and shopping. Public transportation just around the corner and easy to hail taxis. 2 playgrounds within 5 minutes.

Traditional market is just blocks away. Just below are a fish market, produce shops, and delis.

Metro to nearby hikes & mountain biking trails at Collserola. 45 minutes from Montserrat - sightseeing and rock climbing site.

We have several guide books and restaurant guides and can make recommendations from simple to Michelin-rated dining.

About Us

General manager of a medium-sized company and business development manager. Owners of remodeled flat in historic 100-year old building. Remodeled 1 year ago. Young Catalán-American couple with an 18-month old son and one on the way. He: born 30 minutes from Barcelona. She: native of San Francisco. Have travelled to different countries enjoying trekking in Tanzania to upscale travel in China and local balnearios (spas) and fine food. We speak English, Catalán and Spanish at home. He speaks French and German. She understand Tagalog and would like to pick up Mandarin after the 2nd one is born.

Destination

Looking for simultaneous exchange in a home with a pool within 2 hours from San Francisco in a sunny location for the summer. Ideally 14 days, but minimum 10 days up to 25 days. Desired stay between July 21st - August 25th.

Can exchange cars upon mutual agreement.
