Description

Clifton Mansions is a U shaped building consisting of 3 separate buildings, with a courtyard in the middle.
The squat has been going on for 15 years and has seen many souls and artists!

The community is made of hippies and punks of different nationalities (Spanish, Italian, French, American, Polish, Croatian, Austrian, German, English, Hungarian) all living in harmony, helping each other, sharing and swaping things whenever necessary.
Last summer, we set up a veggie garden on the roof of the building in order to spend time together and eat our home-grown food. There

I live at the ground floor of Clifton Mansions with Hungarian flatmate Adam (27), who "rikshawes" at night in the city (taxi bike).

The flat has a big kitchen, a living room, a bathroom (shower), 2 bedrooms, only mine would be available. My bedroom is rather small but cosy with a Victorian fireplace that works! Also, it is a quiet room since its window gives on the back garden.
It could host a single traveller.

The house is simple yet pleasant and with good energies, as visitors say.

Neighborhood

Clifton Mansions is located in the center of Brixton, Jamaican quarter of London.
Everything you need is within 200m of Clifton Mansions: the Ritzy Cinema, any shops, the lively market, The Prince Albert Pub opposite our house, the library, the leisure centre, the Effra Pub to listen to amazing Jazz jam sessions for free, The Mass to listen to Dub or Reggae venue, off course the famous concert hall Brixton Academy, The Fridge for some roots reggae, the Tube station (takes you to the heart of the city in 10mn!) and all buses to all Central London....
We are 10mn walk from the beautiful Brockwell Park.

I like the neighborhood because it is lively and cosmopolitan, close to Central London.

About Us

My name is Mathilde. I'm French and i'm 30 years old. I'm a newly graduated English teacher now volunteering for refugees and immigrants.
I'm well travelled and have been in London for 5 years. I've been squatting in Clifton Mansions for nearly 2 years now.
I'm interested in Buddhism and try to be as good as I possibly can with others. :)
I speak Spanish, English, French, Italian and some basic moroccan.
I would like to swap my bedroom with others living in a squat (or not) from other parts of the world.

I'm flying to New York on the 20th of March till the 28th.
