Description

The millhouse is an old olive mill restored in 1995 and described vividly in the illustrated book "where the cypress rises-an Australian artist in Umbria" (available at www.amazon.com.)It has also been featured in magazines such as Australian `Country Style`. Beautifully furnished, it is available when the family is abroad. Built into the hillside rock,on two levels with spellbinding views towards Spoleto and Montefalco, the millhouse has a large open plan sitting room , dining room and kitchen with aga, and stairs which lead to a very rustic olive grove of 300 olive trees (and free-range tortoise colony, so no dogs please) . We have an 18 metre pool available in the summer months , set in an olive grove of 350 trees. The centre of the village of Trevi, famous for its olive oil (with restaurants, basic shops, churches and museums) is a short stroll through narrow medieval streets and cobble-stoned steps. In the centre of Italy`s `Green heart '- perfect for those wishing to combine art, history and landscape with a unique culinary experience. Stay in the house, get a sense of real life in an Umbrian village and read the book! Italian television, stereo, fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, linen, all kitchen utensils, crockery, extensive english language library, Schmookins the (unobtrusive) live-in cat. In winter heating costs are to be paid by the exchange partner, as is firewood if the exchange is more than two weeks, but the weather is often sunny and the millhousegenerally nestles well above the fog line.Winter is the prefect time to enjoy the treasures of central italy off season, and a very well equiped gym and indoor pool and spa is a ten minute drive away.

Neighborhood
