Description

Cosy chalet (holiday cottage) at 5 km from the sea-side. French doors to terrace and garden (ca. 150 m.). Two bedrooms in the house (one double and two single beds). Extra bed in the living-room. One more bedroom in a separate garden-house, only to be used in summertime (11 m2). Sunny. Stereo, cable television, DVD-player. Possibility to install a console (e.g. Playstation). Well-equiped kitchen. Bathroom with shower and toilet. Terrace with gardenfurniture in wood and parasol to eat outside. The chalet is located in a large domain with (common) swimming pool, football-, volleyball- and basketballterrain, childrens play area (trampolines!) and ponds for fishing. Tennis at 700 metres. Railwaystation at 3 km (Amsterdam Centre 50 minutes).

Neighborhood

Wonderfull area for biking, walking, swimming, visiting historical places (Amsterdam with its numerous musea, Alkmaar with historical Cheese-market, etc.). Endless large sandy beaches, dunes with flowering heather (August). Painters village Bergen at 20 km, with artist markets in summertime. See-aquarium in Bergen-aan-Zee (20 km). Typical Dutch villages. Folkloristic market at 3 km. Colourfull bulbfields in springtime. From Den Helder (20 km), posibility to make a daytrip (or longer) to the beautifull isle of Texel. From Harlingen (ca. 60 km) possibility to make trips to other wonderfull islands (Terschelling and Vlieland). Dutch historical museum at Enkhuizen. The Hague at 100 km. Several theme-parks in the (further) surroundings.

The place is really ideal for families with children, but also very appropriate for those who like nature and culture. Two bikes (m/f) are at your disposition, and also a children's trailer if wanted. Other bikes can be rented (at 4 km) at very reasonable prices.

About Us

We are a family of five: Pieter, Annemie and three sons. Two of them will participate in the exchange: Sebastien (18) and Thierry (10). Pieter is an environmental consultant, Annemie is teaching Frencg literature and culture. We like to meet people from other countries, and are looking forward to your proposition! You can write us in English, French, Italian, German and of course Dutch
