Description

Our late Victorian red brick home dates from the early 1900's and is situated in an historic Dublin suburb, close to the city centre, once home to the Jewish community and the birthplace of Joyce's Leopold Bloom. The house has been restored and contains two double and one single bedrooms, two comfortable reception rooms, a large well fitted airy kitchen/dining area. The house has all mod cons - dishwasher, washer & dryer, 2 TVs, DVD and videos, MAC computer and wireless broadband, We have a small town garden with a deck area and BBQ which is very safe for children and gets the sun (when we have any!)

Neighborhood

The area is a Dublin Victorian suburb of mostly family homes. In the immediate vicinity there are convenient shops, bank and post office, a couple of traditional city pubs and some good restaurants. Within close walking distance are a number of good shopping areas including supermarkets, Dublin's antiques street, and ethnic food shops. A 15 minute walk will bring you to St Stephens Green and one of Dublin's most famous shopping streets; Grafton St.

Also with in walking distance are some of Dublin's most popular tourist sites - the Guinness Hopstore and St Patrick's Cathedral. There are a variety of museums within easy reach as well as the Pheonix Park and Dublin zoo.

There are frequent bus services on the nearby streets and we are within easy reach of Dublin Airport and the main train station.

About Us

We are a family of 4, Vincent (47) is a photographer for University College Dublin, Maire (46) is a sensory analyst for Baileys Irish Cream, Cian (8) is a keen sportsman, and Ana is a very active three year old. The cat Biddy (9) will be staying home.

Destination

We did our first exchange Summer 2008 and it was a great success. So now we'd like to do it again.

We'd love to go to Italy Summer 2009 - We have 2 children 10 + 4 so we'd like somewhere there are plenty of things for them to do. A pool would be nice. We'd also like to be in easy walking distance of shops and restaurants

We're also open to all offers for a week around New Years 2008/9
