Description

My place is located on the North Shore of Maui in Haiku. It is a beautiful, private home on 2 acres, filled with Chinese antiques and Polynesian artwork and has ocean views. The house would work well for a single/couple or family. The famous windsurfing beach Hookipa is 5 minutes away and we are near to the road to Hana. Maui is a nature lovers paradise-- there is much to explore from Haleakala crater, Hana, Lahaina, and of course the world class beaches. The cowboy town of Makawao with shops & restaurants is 7 miles up the street and the international surf town of Paia is 10 minutes with many shops & cafes. aina. We hope you can visit our little corner of paradise in Haiku, after all... "Maui is No Ka Oi!". ~Aloha~

Neighborhood

The neigborhood is of a rural countryside, a couple minutes from Highway that takes you to town (Paia) or towards Hana. It is recommended you have a car (mine is negoatiable) although it is lovely to cycle (mountain bike available) as well. There is a nearby bicycle shop to rent road bikes and a local Maui bus picks up passengers @ Haiku Town Centre right down the road. Upcountry Maui is a paradise of jungle greenery, meandering country roads, quaint little grocery stores, grazing cattle and sheep and of course paniolos (cowboys). Peahi (Jaws) is 5 minutes away-- one of the most famous big waves in the world. The photo of beach I've posted is Baldwin Beach near to Paia which is wonderful for morning walks or runs.

About Us

I am a mid 40's woman--avid cyclist-looking looking for charming accommodations in an authentic location to swap for my home. Long term stays are possible. I don't mind being in a small town if is has charm and excellent food markets/ cultural history. Am not into touristy type places at all!
There might be some friends or family joining me but nothing is determined at the moment. I have a cat Kippers that I would like to leave in the house so animal lovers would be nice.
My house is kept very clean and I would take care of yours as it was my own-- of course I expect the same for my house!
