Description

Our home is a 2 year old bungalo with attached garage, in an area of fine homes and nice people. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the main floor. The master bedroom offers a queen size bed, 46" plasma TV (satellite), as well as a 3 piece ensuite with 5' shower, complete with 2 shower heads and 4 body sprayers.
The laundry pair is located on the main floor. Our basement is not yet finished, but it is in the works, and will eventually add another bedroom and theater room. There is a nice grilling deck with a gas bbq for your use. We also have a 2001 Nissan Maxima, fully loaded that can be included in the exchange.

Neighborhood

Sylvan lake is one of the fastest growing towns in Alberta. It is situated midway between Alberta's largest cities, Edmonton and Calgary, and is the gateway to the Beautiful Sylvan Lake Provincial Park.
Sylvan Lake offers year round tourism with the Lake a primary attraction, waterslides, golf, ball diamonds, parks and walking trails in and around town. Other winter activities include curling, skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing and more.
There are many great resturants located along the water front.
From our home it is about a 5 min drive to the beach, and all other local attractions.

Being centrally located allows for many day trip options. The beautiful rocky mountains are only about a 60 min drive west of our home. One could also take a 90 min drive north to the world famous West Edmonton Mall, or head south to Calgary which is also about a 90 min drive, and then head west to Banff for the day which is an additional 60 min from Calgary.

About Us

We are Lea and Bob, a married couple in our 30's who love to travel and meet new people. I, Lea, am a Registered Nurse, and my husband is in the oil and gas industry, and works as a Rig Manager for a Well Servicing company. Currently, my husband works on a 28 day on and 28 day off rotation and works in Europe. I have a casual position, which allows me a fair bit of flexibility in terms of travel dates. My husband has a daughter age 11 who lives in Calgary, but stays with us often. She may or may not travel with us...depending on the dates. We have a boxer dog, and 2 cats. Our dog will either go to my parents while we are on holidays, or a kennel. Our cats would prefer to stay home, if our guests would be so kind to feed them daily. However, it will be possible for them to go to a kennel as well if need be. We would be glad to take care of your pets if desired.
We have visited about 8 countries so far, and are looking forward to seeing more...especially through a home exchange.
We are clean people and will take excellent care of your property and belongings. We could certainly offer personal references if requested.

Destination

Our dates are somewhat flexible througout 2008/2009. Although I have listed a number of countries, we are open to many destinations, and are looking for 2-3 week stays.
