Enjoy daytrips to metropolitan US and then relax in our spacious family-oriented, two-story, four-bedroom, home located in beautiful Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Master bedroom has a queen-size bed with TV and stereo system. Two bedrooms have single beds and the fourth bedroom has a full-size pull-out futon with computer and high-speed internet access.

Living room,equipped with cable television and computer loaded with kids' games, dining room,and eat-in kitchen with dishwasher are all kid friendly. Relax or eat out on the airy screened porch or shaded brick patio, while watching the children play in the large back yard. In addition to a separate laundry room, there are two bathrooms, one with stall shower and the other with tub/shower combo.

Also available is the following infant/toddler furniture, which we will be happy to set up for your use: crib, portable crib, exersaucer, stroller, high chair, safety gate, front-facing car seat, booster car seat, and toys, toys, toys!

Car exchange available. We are nonsmokers and because of allergies require that our home remain nonsmoking.

Neighborhood

Our home is located on a quiet, well-established main street in East Petersburg, Pennsylvania. Restaurants, an antique shop, and an art gallery are just a block away. Basketball courts, tennis courts, a playground, and ballfields are two blocks away and there is a community swimming pool nearby; approximately 40 golf courses are within a 1-hour drive and shopping opportunities abound. Tuesdays the local outdoor market offers an opportunity to experience the Lancaster farming tradition with one-of-a-kind local foods and crafts, fresh from the beautiful surrounding Amish countryside.

Travel 10 minutes into Lancaster city and enjoy a selection of restaurants, art galleries or take in a show at the Fulton Opera House or a game at the Lancaster Barnstormers stadium.

The following metropolitan areas and destinations are within driving distance for day trips (drive times approximate): NYC 2.75 hours; Washington DC 2.5 hours; Philadelphia 1.5 hours; Baltimore 1.5 hours; Gettysburg, PA 1.5 hours; Hershey, PA and Hersheypark amusement park 45 minutes; Delaware/New Jersey/Maryland beach locations 2.5-4 hours; and the Poconos Mountains 3 hours. We have visited all of these areas numerous times with our children and the convenient location is one of the reasons we love living here. We're excited to be able to share these opportunities with you.

About Us

We are professionals in our 40s, my husband is a special education teacher at an urban high school. I am a behavior specialist consultant/mobile therapist working with preschool children.

We have four children: two adult daughters living on their own and a boy 7 and a girl 5; only the younger two would be traveling with us for the exchange. We love to travel and this is our first home exchange experience. We do have an indoor/outdoor cat.
