Description

Newly renovated home in an established residential area and within 150 metres of patrolled beaches. Set on a beachside hill, the house catches the summer sea breeze and provides views to the hills. Enjoy afternoon drinks on the large shaded deck or escape to the separate living area downstairs. Large double garage, bikes, surf boards, kids activities, broadband internet, modern interior, duelling computers for twice the fun. Perfect home for a family getaway or for a quiet couples getaway.

Ours is a large two storey house perfect for a family vacation or two families. We a have a self contained guest area downstairs. Alternatively, the children can play downstairs while the adults enjoy their own time upstairs.

Neighborhood

An early morning stroll along the beach or walk to the cliff top to find the best beach location for the day. World famous Burleigh Heads beach to the South and Miami beach to the North offer the best family friendly beaches Australia has to offer. A short stroll to the shops, supermarket and local pub nearby. Buses within 100m will take you anywhere including the many local theme parks, Movie World, Dreamworld, Sea World. We have all the "worlds" here for you to enjoy. If shopping is your thing, Pacific Fair is without doubt the biggest shopping centre in the state if not the country. An abundance of movie theatres, restaurants and small cafes are on offer.

Alternatively, a more natural pursuit might be your thing. Bushwalking, we have plenty of that, surfing (did we mention the amazing beaches), sailing, fishing, diving or golf. With courses ranging from world class championship courses designed by Greg Norman (well he did live here once), Jack Nicklaus, Peter Thomson (he designed the links course at Hope Island considered one of the best) and Graham Marsh down to local public courses, you can't go wrong.

Anything you want to do in the sun, you can do it all within a few minutes of our front door. After all, this is Australia's holiday destination.

Local surf clubs provide a relaxed location for breakfast, lunch or dinner. After a meal, take a beachside stroll or try your luck (if that's what you prefer) at the local casino, less than 10 mins north.

1 hr's drive gets you to the state capitol of Brisbane, with all that state capitols have to offer, as well as being a great day trip.
To the south is an abundance of country towns and out of the way destinations, perfect for a short day trip or a quiet overnight stay. Wineries too.

Not to be outdone by the vibrance of the surf beaches, only 25 min west are the magnificant national parks providing the contrast that makes the Gold Coast what it is, a destination for everyone. You'll love it.

About Us

We are both working. Frances is a teacher, Geoffrey is a property manager. Our best option for holidays is the Summer break (December/January). We have 3 children (13,11,7). We got hooked on skiing a couple of years back when we did a 4 month exchange in Calgary, Canada. We are keen to pursue it again next Christmas (2008/09). We have no pets, 3 kids are enough to clean up after. We don't smoke.

We are interested in swapping for up to 7 weeks from the beginning of December 2008 but have to be back by 20 January. We will consider anywhere that is within easy access (minutes) to the ski hills. Small towns are a preference. Walking distance to town is ideal.

Destination

For USA exchanges, we prefer Utah (Park City area) or small town Colorado. Crested Butte, Breckenridge, Telluride or anything similar. We are flexible with Colorado but prefer close to ski areas and in town where possible. We will also consider the Lake Tahoe area. North or South. There is no preference. It is all fantastic.

For Canada, we prefer somewhere in BC, preferably Whistler, Silver Star, Big White, but we are open to suggestions, keeping in mind the ski thing. We are keen to get to Red Mountain and Apex too.

For 2008/09 we have now confirmed travel which leaves looking to exchange between 20 December and 9 January. A simultaneous exchange is preferred but dates are flexible if travelling between Dec 08 and Jan 09.
